Soft Washing Cleans More than Pressure Washing

By now, most people are familiar with pressure washing and what it means. Soft washing on the other hand, is a lesser known and increasingly popular exterior cleaning method.

As you can see in the image pictured above, the white trim on the left image is covered with black mold and algae. This layer can not be removed with pressure washing. Not only will pressure washing this surface not actually clean it, it can also cause damage to the screen if a mistake occurs.

At Pressures Exterior Cleaning we love the soft washing process. Soft washing allows us to clean surfaces that otherwise would be impossible to clean.

In the picture above is an example of a job where pressure washing is required. When it comes to cleaning concrete surfaces or brick surfaces, pressure washing or power washing is often required. We still use soft wash to break down the algae, mold, and dirt on the surface but pressure washing allows us to clean out the porous material.

This is another example of a surface that was cleaned using the soft washing method. Soft washing is great for cleaning algae, mold, wasps nests, spider webs, dirt, and may other kinds of stains on your house or deck.

Why Soft Washing Is Better Than Pressure Washing:

Soft washing has a number of advantages over pressure washing. For starters, soft washing is generally much safer because it requires in most cases no ladders, it is also much faster and more efficient the pressure washing alone.

Soft washing also lasts much longer than pressure washing because the soft wash chemical disinfects the surface, killing the algae and mold at the root whereas pressure washing only removes the visible layer of algae. If there is still living algae on the surface it will grow back very quickly.

Why Is Pressure Washing Better Than Soft Washing?

Although we prefer soft washing for a majority of our exterior cleaning services, pressure washing is better than soft washing when it comes to cleaning concrete surfaces such as driveways, patios, sidewalks, and pavers.

As shown in this image above, pressure washing is able to lighten up the concrete surface by forcibly removing the dirt that has built up on the concrete surface over time. Pressure washing is often used on concrete but it is also useful when cleaning brick.
